Flight Schedule Disruptions and Management of Operational Challenges

Due to technical issues, significant changes to the flight schedule are expected through Friday, December 13 (inclusive).
Our teams are working diligently to implement all possible alternatives to minimize the impact on passengers and keep them informed directly.

We encourage affected passengers to prioritize online processes whenever possible, as our call center is currently overwhelmed.

Why are these disruptions occurring?

These cascading schedule changes result from several factors linked to the events of last May, which caused a sharp decline in domestic air traffic.

To adapt to this challenging context, the airline has implemented a profound and sustainable transformation plan. The flight schedule has been adjusted to meet reduced demand, maintaining limited rotations, especially for tourist destinations like the Isle of Pines or Ouvéa, with one flight per day or fewer. This program relies on the operation of two ATR72-600 aircraft from the fleet of four.

To optimize resources, the airline has also leased one of its aircraft to Air Tahiti for a year and adjusted its workforce accordingly. Additionally, another ATR is undergoing scheduled maintenance for several weeks. As a result, the airline currently has only two operational aircraft, leaving little room for maneuver in the event of disruptions, whether external (such as weather disturbances) or internal (such as technical issues).

Meeting demands during peak periods

Despite these constraints and the high demand during the holiday season and school vacation period, the airline is committed to meeting its passengers’ needs to the best of its ability and optimizing capacity across all destinations.

We sincerely thank our passengers for their patience and understanding.

Access to Magenta Airport from June 17

To facilitate passenger travel, access to Nouméa-Magenta Airport can now be made directly via the roundabout at the airfield for all persons listed as passengers on flights scheduled from [date]. Additionally, the CCI-NC is suspending its shuttle service from the RAI bus station.

However, access to Magenta Airfield remains highly secured: only individuals with a valid ticket will be able to enter the site, and access to parking lot P1 and the Drop-Off area (in front of the airport) is prohibited.

Vehicle owners are therefore invited to park in parking lots P2 and P4 (Access map here). We also remind you that the airfield ticket office is closed.

We thank our customers for their understanding.

See you soon on our flights.

Access to Magenta Airport from June 7

After two days of resuming operations and considering the security measures surrounding the airport, the CCI has decided to modify the organization of access to the terminal: passengers scheduled on Air Calédonie flights from June 7 onwards will only be able to reach Magenta Airport via the shuttles set up by the CCI-NC, which will transport them to the airport.

The shuttles will depart from the parking lot of the RAI bus station (formerly CHT Gaston-Bourret) every 30 minutes starting at 06:15.

Please note: the check-in time at the airport remains unchanged.

Passengers are advised to make arrangements to respect the check-in time in order to proceed with registration and undergo the mandatory security checks (70 minutes before their flight departure).

Arriving passengers at Magenta can either take the shuttle to the bus station or exit as pedestrians.

The airline thanks its customers for their understanding.

Practical Information: Access to Magenta Airport from June 5th

The company confirms the scheduled commercial rotations starting tomorrow and invites concerned passengers to plan their trips ahead of time to ensure optimal safety conditions.

Given the situation, access to Magenta Airport is highly secured by the authorities: only listed passengers with a valid ticket will be allowed on the premises.

Passenger checks will be conducted at the airport roundabout, and parking in lot P1 will be prohibited.

Vehicle owners are therefore advised to park in lots P2 and P4. We also remind passengers that excess baggage is not allowed and that the airport ticket office is closed. More information here.

We thank our customers for their understanding.

See you soon on our flights.
