After a two-year hiatus, the Raid Air Calédonie on Isle of Pines is back on Saturday, October 17, 2026, for its 28th edition — with a fresh new format and plenty of excitement!

Organised in partnership with Challenge Organisation, Isle of Pines Town Hall and Sud Tourisme, this iconic event returns with a new format designed to give as many people as possible the opportunity to enjoy a unique sporting experience in one of New Caledonia’s most spectacular settings.

Whether you are an experienced athlete, an occasional runner, or simply looking for a new challenge to take on with family or friends, all you have to do is choose your course from the three options available!
🏆 The Grand Raid – 18 km
Designed for experienced runners, this timed course features a new trail marking system compared with previous editions. A true sporting challenge through the stunning landscapes of the island
💪 The Mini Raid – 10 km
More accessible while still offering a great sporting challenge, the Mini Raid is perfect for those looking to push themselves over an intermediate distance.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The Family Course – 4 km
Open to everyone, this course is a great opportunity to enjoy the iconic landscapes of the Isle of Pines with family or friends, at your own pace.

And this year, Sud Tourisme is joining forces with the event to offer a range of activities around the race and make the experience even more enjoyable. The programme includes traditional dances, a local craft market and free shuttles to several of the island’s tourist attractions.
A wonderful way to extend the sporting experience, discover or rediscover the Isle of Pines and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the event!

The Trail Air Calédonie de Lifou is bringing its running shoes to the Hnathalo tribe for an inaugural event that promises to be both challenging and friendly.

On September 26, 2026, runners, families and nature lovers are invited to experience a new adventure in the heart of Lifou, as part of the Fête de la Patate, taking place from September 25 to 27.

Three courses for all levels

Transfer of Operations to La Tontouta – Flights Now Available for Booking

The Government of New Caledonia has announced the effective date for the transfer of all Air Calédonie operations to La Tontouta International Airport, starting March 2, 2026. This transfer represents a strategic milestone for the development of domestic and international air transport, offering passengers an enhanced travel experience, improved connectivity with international flights, and modernized infrastructure to serve New Caledonia.

For several months, Air Calédonie has been actively preparing for this transition to ensure its success. The company is pleased to announce that the entire flight schedule is now open for booking until October 24, 2026.

Air Calédonie clarifies that until the effective transfer date of March 2, 2026, domestic flights will continue to operate from Magenta Airport.

For passengers who have already booked travel for a departure/arrival that will ultimately take place at La Tontouta:

  • Automatic Rebooking: Tickets have been automatically modified at no additional cost to the nearest available flight to the original booking. An email and SMS notification has been sent to each affected customer. If the new flight time is inconvenient, special commercial arrangements are available to facilitate modifications or refunds under certain conditions.

  • Note on Changes: If a customer subsequently wishes to modify their ticket, a fare adjustment may apply due to differences in taxes between the two airports.

  • Unpaid Reservations: For customers who have made a reservation but not yet completed payment (unissued ticket), a new flight and fare proposal will be sent promptly, along with an updated purchase deadline.

The company encourages all customers to verify and update their contact information to ensure they receive these communications without delay.

Air Calédonie’s commercial teams remain fully committed to addressing any questions and providing the best possible support to customers, whom they thank for their understanding.

Trail Maré Air Calédonie 2025: A Weekend of Sport, Celebration and Discovery in the Heart of the Loyalty Islands

After the success of the 2024 edition, the 4th Trail Maré Air Calédonie returns on Saturday, December 6, 2025, for a weekend filled with sport, festivities, and exploration in the heart of the Loyalty Islands.
Organized by our partner Challenge Organisation in collaboration with the Plages et Falaises de Laxec Development Committee and the tribe of Eni, this event has become a must for nature lovers and trail-running enthusiasts alike.

Three Courses for Every Level

The Trail Maré Air Calédonie 2025 offers three routes designed for all levels and ambitions:
– Grand Raid – 20 km, 160 m elevation gain (start at 6:30 a.m.)
– Mini Raid – 8 km, 40 m elevation gain (start at 7:00 a.m.)
– Family Run – 3 km (start at 8:00 a.m.)

Each registration includes a shuttle to the starting line and a local buffet dinner on Saturday evening.
Participants can also choose from accommodation packages with local hosts or camping options, including breakfast and round-trip transfers from the wharf or the airport — a wonderful way to experience the warmth and hospitality of Maré.

A Weekend of Sports and Celebration

Beyond the race itself, Maré will come alive with the Fête du Littoral, held at the tribe of Eni. Markets, performances, local cuisine, and cultural activities will extend the experience in a friendly and festive atmosphere.

Les Défis Bleus are not just for seasoned athletes — they are designed for all ages and fitness levels. Several race formats will be available so that everyone can find their challenge:

  • Swimrun XS or S: for thrill seekers, combining swimming and running, solo or in pairs.

  • Kids’ Triathlon: a fun and safe race tailored for the youngest participants.
