Update as of 01/03/2026:
The airline is required to cancel all domestic flights scheduled for 2 March 2026

————————————

Due to airport blockades announced from 2 March 2026 at several destinations across the domestic network, the airline informs its customers that there is a high risk of flight cancellations or disruptions for flights to and from the Loyalty Islands and the Isle of Pines.

Customers who wish to do so may already postpone their travel and benefit from more flexible commercial conditions by:
• contacting our call center at +687 25 21 77
• or completing the dedicated form available on our website

Customers who prefer to wait will be informed directly if their flight is modified or cancelled. An alternative travel solution will then be offered as soon as possible.

Air Calédonie regrets any inconvenience caused by this situation beyond its control and thanks its passengers for their understanding.

Temporary suspension of freight services

As part of the relocation of Air Calédonie’s operations to La Tontouta International Airport, the company’s freight service procedures will be temporarily adjusted to support the transition and ensure a smooth relocation.

Freight transport
No freight will be transported between 27 February and 1 March 2026 inclusive. Freight services will resume from 2 March 2026.

Freight drop-off in Nouméa – Magenta
Freight acceptance will be suspended from Friday, 27 February 2026. Acceptance will resume on Monday, 2 March 2026 at 7:00 am.

Freight collection in Nouméa – Magenta
To ensure service continuity, a duty service will remain in place until Sunday, 1 March 2026 inclusive, allowing customers to collect pending shipments, particularly sensitive items such as medical samples.

Air Calédonie thanks its customers for their understanding and cooperation during this transition period.

Transfer of operations to La Tontouta: everything you need to know

From March 2, 2026, Air Calédonie will transfer all of its operations from Magenta Airport to La Tontouta International Airport. This change marks a new stage in the airline’s organizational structure and aims to provide passengers with a modern and functional airport environment.
La Tontouta Airport offers travelers suitable facilities, including a spacious arrivals hall, free Wi-Fi access, and several dining options designed to enhance the comfort of airport users.

Check-in: Adjusted Time
As part of this new arrangement, the Check-in Deadline (CDH) is changing to 45 minutes before flight departure (up from 40 minutes). Passengers are strongly encouraged to check in online to expedite their journey through the airport and reduce waiting times at the check-in counter.

Baggage: Be mindful of acceptance conditions
The baggage allowance rules remain unchanged: depending on the fare conditions of the ticket, passengers are entitled to one piece of checked baggage (12 kg or 23 kg). Customers wishing to carry more baggage than included in the allowance can purchase the “additional baggage” option, available for purchase up to 4 hours before departure, either online or through our agents at 25 21 77.

HOWEVER, due to the automated baggage handling equipment at La Tontouta Airport, baggage must be properly closed and have no visible straps. Therefore, shopping bags, soft bags with loose straps, or any item extending beyond the conveyor belts will not be accepted at check-in.

More information on checked baggage is available here.

How to get to La Tontouta Airport?

Find all the information you need to get to La Tontouta Airport on the CCI website.

New: The Tontouta Express (TEX) shuttle offers you the possibility of reaching the airport for 500 XPF per person, per trip. This service covers all domestic flight schedules, with stops in Nouméa (CHT), Dumbéa (Koutio), Païta (Arènes du Sud), and the terminal. A convenient solution for stress-free travel.

Freight: Service maintained at Magenta and new organization
Parcel drop-off and pick-up continue to be handled at Magenta, with daily transport to La Tontouta. Magenta’s freight service hours have been adjusted from Monday to Saturday:

– Package drop-off: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
– Package collection: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

For your information:
For a flight scheduled for 4:40 PM, packages can be dropped off the same morning, until 11:00 AM.

For unreserved shipments, drop-offs are still possible during opening hours, subject to flight availability.

It is also important to note that the company no longer has a cold storage facility. Maintaining the temperature of fresh products or coolers is now the responsibility of the sender.

The company thanks its customers for their continued trust during this transition. All the conditions are in place to ensure that this transition takes place in the best possible conditions, with the aim of offering an optimized experience and enhanced service for the benefit of all passengers.

Domestic Airport Closure: Flight Cancellations on February 20 and 21

Following the announcement of the closure of the airports in the Loyalty Islands and the Ile des Pins on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21, the airline is required to cancel all domestic flights scheduled for these two days.

To prioritize the processing of bookings, passengers holding return flights on these dates will be automatically rebooked on the next available flights. They will receive details of their new flight by SMS or email, based on the contact information provided at the time of booking. If the proposed alternative does not meet their needs, they are invited to contact our sales department by phone at +687 25 21 77 or by email at vente@air-caledonie.nc.

Other passengers are invited to indicate their preferred rebooking option via the dedicated online form.

The airline regrets the inconvenience caused and thanks its passengers for their understanding.
