Back-to-School Season Is Fast Approaching: Time to Plan Your Return from Vacation
With a reduced flight schedule in place, it’s crucial to carefully plan your trip to avoid any unpleasant surprises. For a smooth return, follow our tips!
Book Your Tickets as Early as Possible
Ideally, you should book your tickets as far in advance as you can, especially if your trip coincides with a high-demand period like the back-to-school season. Booking early ensures you’ll have seats available for your desired travel dates and allows you to choose from the different fare classes we offer. Select the option that best suits your budget and the fare conditions you prefer. Currently, there is still availability for the weekend before school starts, but tickets are selling fast. Don’t wait—book now!
Plan an Early Departure for Peace of Mind
Due to the reduced flight schedule since the resumption of commercial operations, the airline’s capacity remains limited, and transport times may be extended in case of contingencies. This is especially true during cyclone season. We strongly recommend planning your departure as early as possible. Leave enough leeway to account for unexpected events (weather conditions, delays, flight changes) to ensure you reach your destination on time.
Prepare Well for Your Trip
Finally, make sure all aspects of your journey are well-organized:
- Before leaving, ensure all necessary documents are ready: a valid ID and your ticket (either printed or saved on your smartphone).
- Be mindful of the baggage allowance stated on your ticket. If you plan to bring more luggage than allowed, consider purchasing the extra baggage option online or through our call center agents.
- Arrive at the airport at the designated check-in time. Be punctual or opt for online check-in to save time. This way, you can manage the check-in process, security checks, and boarding without feeling rushed. Arriving early helps reduce the stress of potential delays.
By following these tips, you can approach the back-to-school season with ease and fully enjoy your return trip.

Air Calédonie inaugurates its new Nouméa La Tontouta – Port-Vila route!
The inaugural flight of our new Nouméa – Port-Vila route took place this Thursday, October 3rd! It allowed around a hundred passengers to travel between the two territories. Warning: Automated Notifications May Be Incorrect
A number of customers who have booked a flight on our routes are receiving notifications on their electronic calendars, in addition to emails from the airline. For some, flight information is automatically synced to their smartphone’s calendar. The airline wishes to inform its customers that the information provided in these emails and/or notifications may be incorrect.
Air Calédonie reminds passengers that only the information directly communicated by the airline should be considered reliable. In case of changes to their flights, affected passengers will be informed by the airline via email or SMS, using the contact details provided at the time of booking.
If you are unsure about your flight schedule, the airline advises you to refer to the flight ticket sent as an attachment in the booking confirmation email, check your boarding pass for passengers who have checked in online, or contact our sales teams by phone.
Our teams are doing everything possible to resolve this situation, which is beyond our control, and we thank our customers for their understanding.
The UM service is back!
Access to Magenta Airport from June 7
After two days of resuming operations and considering the security measures surrounding the airport, the CCI has decided to modify the organization of access to the terminal: passengers scheduled on Air Calédonie flights from June 7 onwards will only be able to reach Magenta Airport via the shuttles set up by the CCI-NC, which will transport them to the airport.
The shuttles will depart from the parking lot of the RAI bus station (formerly CHT Gaston-Bourret) every 30 minutes starting at 06:15.
Please note: the check-in time at the airport remains unchanged.
Passengers are advised to make arrangements to respect the check-in time in order to proceed with registration and undergo the mandatory security checks (70 minutes before their flight departure).
Arriving passengers at Magenta can either take the shuttle to the bus station or exit as pedestrians.
The airline thanks its customers for their understanding.
Gradual Resumption of Operations: Sales Reopening and Requests Regularization
The airline has created new flights for its gradual resumption until June 23rd: initially scheduled flights have been canceled and the affected passengers have been informed. Thus, a new flight schedule is available for booking on our website and those who had their reservations canceled should contact our teams.
However, given the still challenging situation, this organization works with drastically reduced staff, and we encourage our clients to carry out their procedures online so that they can be processed as efficiently as possible.
Our teams are mobilized to respond to various requests as best as they can:
- All clients affected by cancellations during this period are invited to fill out the regularization form (priority will be given to transfers requests on first available flights).
- Ticket reservations related to the new flight schedule are available online.
- The call center is accessible by phone again (8 AM – 3 PM) with significant handling delays.
We also remind Lifou residents that the Wé sales agency is open from Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 12 PM.
Payment by credit card only.
The airline thanks its clients for their patience and understanding.
Towards a Gradual Resumption of Flights
Since May 14th, the airline has canceled its commercial flights due to the serious events shaking the territory. Nevertheless, Air Calédonie has been committed since that date to responding to the authorities’ requests: airlift operations, emergency transport, repatriation of populations, and movement of personnel.
Today, the High Commissioner announced the reopening of Magenta Airport starting from June 5th. Therefore, the airline is working on a gradual resumption of commercial flights if security conditions permit. This step, crucial for Air Calédonie and the entire population, remains a significant challenge and requires particular organization with reduced staff:
- The proposed flight schedule will be greatly reduced, offering adapted timings to ensure smooth operations while respecting safety and curfew measures. All information related to the resumption of operations will be provided in real-time and accessible online.
- The airline’s administrative and customer service operations are also subject to specific organization with reduced opening hours and the continued closure of the Plaza agency in Nouméa. Updated service hours can be found here.
To combine the resumption of operations with the processing of multiple file regularization requests under significantly degraded working conditions, the airline invites all customers affected by flight cancellations since May 14th to fill out the form available in the claims section of its website: I fill out the form
The teams are doing their utmost to process all requests as quickly as possible, but response times are expected due to the context. The airline thanks its customers for their patience and understanding and urges everyone to exercise the utmost caution.
Regularization of bookings since May 14th: fill out the online form!
Your flight has been canceled since May, 14th ?
The company is implementing exceptional commercial measures for impacted passengers.
To optimize the processing of requests for file adjustments since the beginning of the events, Air Calédonie invites all customers affected by a cancellation to fill out the dedicated form on its website.
Customers who have already submitted a request to our services are also invited to fill out this form – an email with further instructions will be sent to them shortly.
The teams are doing everything possible to process requests quickly, but due to the number of inquiries, processing delays are to be expected. Therefore, the company thanks its customers for their patience and understanding and reminds that all flights are canceled until further notice.
